San Cristóbal de la Habana is a Cuban cigar brand introduced by Habanos S.A. in 1999 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Havana's founding. Named after the original 16th-century title of Cuba's capital, the brand pays homage to the city's rich history. While a pre-Revolution brand with the same name existed, the modern San Cristóbal de la Habana is an entirely new creation. The brand's cigars are handmade with long filler ('Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga') using tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region. They are characterized by a light to medium flavor profile. The initial lineup featured four vitolas named after historic fortresses: El Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta, and El Principe. In 2004, three additional sizes—Muralla, Mercaderes, and Oficios—were introduced, each named after notable streets in Old Havana.
