Vegueros is a Cuban cigar brand introduced in 1996 by Habanos S.A., paying tribute to the farmers—known as 'vegueros'—who have cultivated tobacco in the Pinar del Río region for generations. The brand was officially launched in 1997 to honor these tobacco growers and their craftsmanship.Initially, Vegueros cigars were produced at the Francisco Donatién Factory in Pinar del Río, a facility established in 1868 and converted into a cigar factory in 1961. The cigars were known for their distinctive green and white bands and were primarily rolled for domestic consumption and special occasions. Vegueros cigars are characterized by their medium to full-bodied strength and are crafted from premium Vuelta Abajo tobacco. They are produced at the Francisco Donatién Factory in Pinar del Río, Cuba.
